EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCE/THE CONFERENCE:

The one-day conference “Translations without Borders” is primarily targeted at translation companies, freelance translators and language students, but is also inviting as audience members the representatives of event management companies, IT companies, marketing companies, call center/communication companies, investment companies…basically, all branches whose business activities depend on and are connected with high-quality translation services and foreign language knowledge. The expected number of participants is around 100 persons.

The conference is organized in cooperation with Alfa BK University and their Faculty of Foreign Languages, as the venue of the conference.

OPENING CEREMONY

  • Panel 1. Technology in translation – Practical examples
  • Panel 2. Training courses for translators – Continuing professional education
  • Panel 3. New trends in translation industry – digitalization, localization, post-editing…
Panel 3 should highlight the new/recent translation services that have evolved as a product of omnipresent digitization and globalization. The idea behind the panel is to talk about the changes that have happened and can be expected in the translation industry and how they affect the translation industry and translators as service providers. What are the biggest challenges translators face today, given the increasing presence of machine translation, artificial intelligence and CAT tools? What is the situation on the market when it comes to localization, post-editing, transcreation, etc., supply-demand and quality? What changes in the market can be expected in the near future?
  • Panel 4. Translations without borders – the challenges of field work

Among other things, this  panel deals with the translation profession  that is rarely mentioned  in a faculty curriculum/course in Serbia. We will mention some of the specific, often psycho-physically difficult requirements that the translator needs to adapt to during the field work.

  • Panel 5. Copywriting and other options for language connoisseurs
